So... I guess I'm just going to continue on the tangent I was talking about in class last Friday regarding the first short story we read. Basically I felt that the author developed a decent story, drawing the reader in and making her (or him) honestly feel for the writer; however, I did not enjoy the overly masculinity of his thoughts and writings. I found them to be limited, single-minded and (in a word) boring. I don't know if anyone else felt this way... maybe I was just being overly critical but by the end of that reading I definitely had no desire to turn back to it at any other point in time for reference or writerly guidance (which I felt was the whole point of his writing).
On the other hand, I enjoyed the most recent reading more... hopefully someone else agrees with my "evaluation" (of sorts) of that first "story".
