I have realized that I have some sick fascination with Sanjeev and Twinkle.
As annoyed as I am by most of the characters, I can not help but keep thinking about them.
I hate Sanjeev. I hate Twinkle.
But all I can do is think of how I could change the story a bit so that I do like them. And then I find myself wondering about other aspects of the story that could be changed, and in effect, how much they would change the story. What if Twinkle found relics of a different religion? What if they didn't live in the U.S.? What if Sanjeev hadn't gone to MIT and didn't have a good job...would he still care? There are so many aspects to this story that have a great effect on the story.
When we read the story I hated it.
Now I'm fascinated by the plethora of options I have to change it.
Imagine how different the story would be if told from the point of view of one of the characters, and not just a narrorator. Regardless of which character, the emotion could be changed immensely if told from first person.
I wonder how Sanjeev or tell this story....
